Little Italy
The sloping landscape at the northern shore of San Diego Bay was once home to a thriving tuna fishing industry and the Italian-Americans who derived their livelihood from it. Today, Little Italy represents some of the finest of San Diego living: bay views, fine food, art and cultural festivities. India Street is alive with restaurants, small cafes, coffee shops, art & antique galleries and specialty shops. Our Lady of the Rosary Church and Washington Elementary School remain important institutions of the area. Amici Park serves both as a playground for the school and a park. Little Italy hosts over half-a-dozen annual festivals in celebration of holidays, music and art, including Festa, "Chalk La Strada," a Bocce Ball Tournament, ArtWalk, a jazz festival and Cinco de Mayo, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter celebrations. Most of the condos in Little Italy are mid rise with only a few high rises, condos here are generally on the less expensive end of the price range for downtown. Properties values in Little Italy will be positively influenced by the upcoming North Embarcadero Visionary Plan. Little Italy has more of a community feel to it than any other neighborhood downtown. It’s a good 15 minute walk to reach the Gaslamp.

In 2009, there were 167 condos sold, 68 REO's, 37 by developers (new construction), 34 resales and 28 short sales.
Average sales price was $351,000 and the average price per square foot was $372.
