Other: Breaking News Update as of Feb 2023, this project has been halted by the City as they are tired of waiting for the developer to start the project. Its possible the City and the Ritz work things out, but most likely not. The City, since they own the land is requiring the developer of this parking lot to include a lot of affordable housing and its hard to find a developer that can make the project work financially. So stay tuned as the City has proposed putting the lot up for sale again. The Ritz Carlton hotel and condo complex was approved in 2016 to go ahead by the City, but is delayed because of bogus union lawsuits trying to blackmail the developer into hiring them. The building would include 164-room Ritz Carlton hotel and 65 Ritz-branded condos as part of a mixed-use project that would also include offices, 159 apartments, 34 affordable housing units and public parking. Condo/hotel rooms (the ones you can buy) are proposed to start on the 28th floor and go up to the 39th floor. To be located on the block between Market and Island, 7th and 8th streets in Downtown San Diego. Might have a 22,000 sf Gelson's grocery store on the ground floor.
